Three of the gunmen behind the jail break in Minna have been apprehended by Niger State Command of the Nigeria Police.
LEADERSHIP gathered that the men were apprehended along Kalgara highway of Rafi Local Government Area of the state while robbing road users at about 10pm.
It was gathered that following a tip-off ,the police went to where the gang was operating and engaged them in a gun battle.
The police, it was gathered, overpowered them and consequently apprehended them around 10pm on Monday night in the area from where they were immediately transferred to the state headquarters for necessary action.
Police Public Relations Officer in charge of the State Police Command, Malam Ibrahim Abiodun Gambari, confirmed the arrest to LEADERSHIP, adding that the members of the gang were arrested and six rifles seized from them.
The PPRO said those arrested were the main brain behind the prison break at the Minna Medium Security Prison where 275 inmates were confirmed to have escaped and 108 recaptured by Monday.
