NYSC Member Sentenced To One Year Imprisonment

National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member, Helen Bando, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment for submitting forged documents to the Indian High Commission.

The corps member, Helen, alongside her other accomplices, Samuel Obiakor and Segun Alimi were on November 3, 2014, Monday, sentenced to one year of imprisonment each without an option of fine on the one count amended charge by an Ikeja High Court.

The judge, Justice Olutoyin Ipaye who said the NYSC member out of desperation to travel outside Nigeria made her conspire with the others to forge the document.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the defendants had entered a plea bargain with the ICPC.
