'Cake Boss' Star Buddy Valastro Arrested for DWI

Blame it on a sugar rush.
The New York Police Department has confirmed to The Insider With Yahoo that Buddy Valastro, of TLC's Cake Boss, was arrested early Thursday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Officers with the NYPD claim Valastro—whose real name is Bartolo—was driving a 2014 yellow Corvette up 10th Ave. on Manhattan's west side when he began swerving through traffic. According to the Associated Press, Valastro failed a Breathalyzer and was arrested just after 1 a.m. The NYPD could not say exactly what Valastro's blood alcohol content was at the time of his arrest.
Valastro, 37, has been charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while ability impaired, two similar charges which depend largely on how intoxicated a driver is. The TLC reality star is set to go before a judge sometime Thursday morning.
This is the first offense for Valastro, who rose to prominence after his show,Cake Boss, premiered on TLC in 2009. He owns several bakeries, all of which are known for their larger-than-life culinary creations. Just recently, Valastro made a cake for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's birthday.
