Janet Jackson Rocks Low-Key Look for Rare Public Appearance

It's Janet Jackson remixed! The singing superstar, who always looks a little different every time we see her, made a rare appearance at a fashion event in Dubai over the weekend.

The 48-year-old singer and actress attended the Vogue Fashion Dubai Experience Gala on Friday. She was dressed in a conservative, all black outfit – appropriate for Halloween – with her extremely straight and long (nearly to her waist) locks pulled into a top ponytail. She accessorized the simple look with a diamond necklace and earrings, and played up her eyes with a liberal amount of mascara. In the photo, she's walking surrounded by a large group of security and handlers and almost goes unrecognized in the pack.

Janet looked quite different than the last time we saw her on the red carpet, which was all the way back in May 2013. She attended the amfAR gala in France in a waist accentuating all-white suit with baggy white pants and strappy sandals. She sexed up her look by skipping a shirt, so her low-cut jacket played up her cleavage.

This is quite a change from the Janet we used to know.
